**Craig Wright Loses Defamation Case Against Bitcoin Historian Peter McCormack**
A British judge has dismissed a defamation lawsuit filed by self-proclaimed Bitcoin inventor Craig Wright against Bitcoin historian Peter McCormack.
Wright had sued McCormack for damages over a 2019 podcast in which McCormack said Wright "is not Satoshi" and called him a "liar and a fraud."
In his ruling, Judge Andrew Chamberlain said that Wright had "advanced a deliberately false case as to the dis-invitations from academic conferences." He added that there would be "no injustice" in awarding just one pound in damages.
Wright has said that he intends to appeal the decision.
This is not the first time that Wright has been involved in a legal battle over his claims to be Satoshi Nakamoto. In 2018, he lost a lawsuit against the estate of Dave Kleiman, who he claimed had co-invented Bitcoin with him.
