Delphi Digital, a cryptocurrency investment firm, has launched a $10 million fund to invest in non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
The fund, called Delphi Infinft, is based on a decentralized investment protocol called O-Chain. O-Chain is built using smart contracts and will operate on the protocol.
Anil Lulla, co-founder and COO of Delphi Digital, told The Block that the protocol will allow for automation of deposits, limits, distribution, fund management, reports, and more.
"This will also make our investments transparent for others to see," Lulla said.
Delphi Digital partnered with NFT investor GMoney for the fund. GMoney, who has a pseudonym, bought a Cryptopunk NFT for $176,000 earlier this year, setting a record price at the time.
GMoney and Delphi Digital will co-manage the fund.
They plan to make a total of about 20 investments through Infinft, with 3-5 investments per month. The average investment will be around $250,000.
The fund will target projects that are creating NFTs and building new NFT technology to improve the ecosystem.
Infinft is backed by Ideo Colab Ventures, Calvin Liu of Compound Finance and Divergence Ventures, Jeffrey Zirlin of Axie Infinity, an NFT-based game developer, Andy ChoRlian of the NFT Fractional, Gabby Dizon of Yield Guild Games, and others.
According to Lulla, NFTs are here to stay.
"They're not just a new source of revenue for creators," Lulla told The Block. "They can be used to change the relationship between creators and fans from consumer to collaborator."
Lulla added: "It's hard to overstate the level of this impact on society in the long run."
