Hypernative, a security company that helps crypto firms prevent security breaches, has raised $12 million in a Series A funding round.
The round was led by Glilot Capital Partners, with participation from existing investors Blumberg Capital and Vertex Ventures.
Hypernative was founded in 2021 by CEO Guy Sagie and CTO Dan Caspi. The company's platform uses historical data, machine learning models, and heuristics to identify and prevent potential security threats.
"We saw people falling into phishing and scamming campaigns [and] we saw reputable organizations not entering the field and not sending or investing money because they're afraid of reputation risk, and how to monitor and understand risk," Sagie told CoinDesk.
The company's platform has already prevented the loss of tens of millions of dollars to date, Sagie said.
Hypernative plans to use the new funding to launch new products and expand its team.
"The market is very reactive in nature," Sagie said. "When there is something going wrong businesses focus on how you handle it post-incident, but preventing these things from happening is a very important aspect [of remaining secure]."
