**MakerDAO and Coinbase to collaborate on short-term bond investment**
MakerDAO, the decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol behind the DAI stablecoin, is collaborating with Coinbase to invest Maker's collateral in short-term bonds.
"This proposed collaboration with Coinbase (COIN) follows an approved signal of intent by the MakerDAO community to increasingly invest Maker’s collateral into short-term bonds," Jennifer Senhaji, growth and business development lead at MakerDAO, said in a statement.
Last week, it was reported that 88% of the community votes were in favor of the proposal.
The collaboration is expected to help MakerDAO improve its risk management and liquidity, while also providing Coinbase with access to new DeFi markets.
