**Colorado lawmakers want to explore blockchain for agriculture**
A group of Colorado lawmakers has formed an advisory group to explore the potential of blockchain technology for the state's agriculture industry.
The group, which is comprised of lawmakers, farmers, and industry experts, will be tasked with identifying ways blockchain can be used to improve traceability, inventory control, and other aspects of agricultural operations.
"Blockchain technology has the potential to revolutionize the way we do business in agriculture," said Rep. Barbara McLachlan, who is co-chairing the advisory group. "By creating a more transparent and efficient system, blockchain can help us improve food safety, reduce costs, and increase productivity."
The advisory group will be submitting its findings and recommendations to the general assembly by January 15, 2020.
