San Francisco-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has hired AWS veteran Tim Wagner to lead its engineering team.
Wagner, who previously served as vice president of engineering at Amazon Web Services (AWS), will be responsible for growing and developing Coinbase's engineering team.
“Engineering is central to our mission of creating an open financial system for the world,” said Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong in a blog post announcing the hire. “It is core to our strategy to deliver the most trusted and easiest-to-use cryptocurrency products and services. We have built an amazing engineering team at Coinbase, one which Tim will now lead and expand.”
Wagner joins Coinbase at a time when the company is rapidly expanding.
