**Coinbase's legal troubles may be a sign that the SEC's investigation is not over**
Citi analysts said that Coinbase's recent moves, including its plans to move its headquarters out of the U.S. and its lawsuit against the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), are indicative that the SEC's investigation into the company is not over.
"The failure of Signature Bank and whether it was crypto-related along with other events of the past year are all fodder for the SEC," the analysts wrote.
Citi said that Coinbase remains a category leader and "one of the better positioned platforms should broader integration with traditional finance occur," but the company is now "tasked to advocate for a reportedly damaged industry undergoing regulatory compliance."
