Chinese cloud computing and internet services company Xunlei announced the launch of its TRC standards for Thunderchain, a blockchain platform the company launched in April.
The new TRC standards are designed to help build a vibrant ecosystem for Thunderchain by allowing third parties to build upon the company's blockchain.
“Xunlei is committed to amplifying the power of individuals through technological innovation,” said Xunlei CEO Lei Chen. “We believe that the TRC standards will contribute to the development of the blockchain industry and empower more developers to build innovative applications.”
Xunlei first announced its plans to launch Thunderchain in April, claiming that the new blockchain would be able to process “millions of transactions per second.”
The company has been involved in the blockchain industry since last October, when it launched its own cryptocurrency, the Xunlei Coin (XLC). However, Xunlei has also been the subject of two ongoing class action lawsuits filed by investors who allege that the company misled them about its ICO.
