LedgerX, a cryptocurrency derivatives trading platform, has been granted approval by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to provide clearing services for futures and options contracts that are not based on digital assets.
The amended order, which was issued on March 8, 2023, allows LedgerX to clear futures and options contracts on both physical and cash-settled basis. It also allows the company to clear contracts that are based on commodities other than digital assets, such as gold, silver, and oil.
LedgerX is already registered with the CFTC as a designated contract market (DCM) and swap execution facility (SEF). The company was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in New York City.
