**Grayscale launches new crypto index fund that tracks the performance of 6 major cryptocurrencies**
Grayscale Investments, the world's largest digital asset manager, has launched a new crypto index fund that tracks the performance of six major cryptocurrencies.
The Grayscale Digital Large Cap Fund (GDLC) is designed to provide investors with exposure to the largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, Solana, Avalanche, and Polkadot.
The fund is currently only offered in a private placement to accredited investors, but Grayscale plans to seek a public listing on the secondary markets in the future.
“Investor demand for diversified exposure has grown in parallel to the ongoing evolution of the crypto ecosystem,” said Grayscale CEO Michael Sonnenshein. “The Grayscale Digital Large Cap Fund provides investors with a simple and cost-effective way to gain exposure to the largest and most liquid cryptocurrencies.”
The GDLC is the latest in a series of moves by Grayscale to expand its product offerings. In February, the company launched the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), which is the world’s largest Bitcoin investment product.
Grayscale is also one of the leading proponents of a Bitcoin spot ETF, which would allow investors to trade Bitcoin on traditional exchanges. The SEC has yet to approve a spot Bitcoin ETF, but Grayscale has filed several applications in recent months.
