**Cryptocurrency Bill in California Delayed, May Be Revisited in 2017**
A bill that would have created a regulatory framework for cryptocurrency businesses in California has been delayed, but could be revisited next year.
The bill, which was first introduced in 2015, has been the subject of months of debate between industry representatives, state lawmakers, and technology advocacy groups.
A spokesperson for the California State Assembly's banking and finance committee told CoinDesk that the bill is "being delayed for this year."
However, the spokesperson indicated that the bill could return during the next legislative session in 2017.
