**Binance CEO: Binance did not create BUSD, but will continue to work with stablecoin issuers**
The stablecoin BUSD briefly depegged from the US dollar earlier this week, but has since regained its peg. In a Twitter Spaces on Tuesday, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao said that Binance did not create BUSD, but has an agreement with Paxos to let them use the Binance brand.
Zhao's comments appeared to have dampened sentiment for BUSD among traders, as some crypto enthusiasts on Twitter pointed out earlier this week.
Paxos has since burned more than $700 million worth of BUSD tokens in an effort to restore the peg.
"As BUSD usage grows over time, we will continue to work with more stablecoin issuers or creators," Zhao said, citing existing support for other stablecoins such as USD Coin (USDC) and Tether (USDT).
