Borderless Capital, an Algorand-focused venture firm and Helium investor, has called on the Helium community to reconsider its proposed move to Solana.
In a blog post, Borderless Capital argued that Helium should "evaluate proposals from other leading [layer 1] blockchains first" before making a decision on whether to move to Solana.
Borderless Capital acknowledged that Helium's current chain is "unstable" and that the company may not be able to maintain and operate it in the long term. However, the firm argued that it is "impossible for the community, third-party developers, staking providers and users to understand the pros and cons of moving to a [chain] like Solana without more rigorous analysis and transparency."
Borderless Capital also pointed out that Solana has its own set of problems, including a recent outage that caused the network to be offline for over 18 hours.
"We believe that Helium should take its time and carefully evaluate all of its options before making a decision on where to move its network," Borderless Capital concluded.
