**Digital Asset Hires Former Swift Executives as it Builds Out Leadership Team**
Digital Asset, a startup developing a blockchain-based platform for financial services, has hired two former executives from Swift, the global payments network, as it builds out its leadership team.
Chris Church, who served as Swift's chief executive for the Americas and head of its securities division, will become Digital Asset's chief business development officer.
Cris Connaughton, who was Swift's managing director for global markets, will become Digital Asset's chief operating officer.
"With more than 50 years of combined experience in the financial and technology sectors, Cris and Chris have a deep understanding not only of the marketplace, but of what we are building at Digital Asset," said Digital Asset CEO Blythe Masters in a statement.
The leadership team buildout follows a steady period of acquisitions for the startup.
Since the summer, the company has acquired blockchain startups Hyperledger, Bits of Proof and Blockstack.io, more firms than any other in the industry.
