Blockchain Capital, a leading venture capital firm investing in the digital assets space, has partnered with Bitgo, a leading digital asset custodian, to provide custody services for its security token, BCAP.
BCAP is a security token that represents shares in the Blockchain Capital III Digital Liquid Venture Fund. It offers holders exposure to the underlying assets of Blockchain Capital, which invests in early-stage companies in the digital assets space.
“We wanted to ensure that our custom solution for BCAP would be completely secure,” said Brad Stephens, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Blockchain Capital. “Bitgo is a proven leader in the digital asset custody space and we are confident that they will provide our investors with the highest level of security.”
Bitgo supports over 100 cryptocurrencies and tokens, and says it has over $2 billion in assets held in its wallets. The company is also a founding member of the Security Token Standards Association (STSA), a non-profit organization dedicated to developing standards for the security token ecosystem.
“Security tokens are an increasingly important asset class for institutional investors,” said Ben Chan, Chief Technology Officer of Bitgo. “We are excited to partner with Blockchain Capital to provide custody services for BCAP and to support the continued growth of the security token ecosystem.”
BCAP has been trading on the U.S.-based regulated trading platform OpenFinance for several months. It is one of the first security tokens to be listed on a regulated exchange.
