Financial news outlet The Block reports that Bank of America is working on a pilot project to use blockchain technology for trade finance. The bank believes that blockchain could help to streamline the process of trade finance, which is often slow and inefficient.

"We are working on a pilot in the trade finance space. As trade finance often relies on manual, paper-based processes, it serves as an interesting use of the value of digital an asset on a distributed ledger."
The project is being developed with another unnamed bank, outside of the R3 consortium. Tieode suggested that the pilot could be completed by this spring.
