IBM's Watson Research Center has filed a patent for a blockchain-based system that would allow researchers to collaborate on projects and track their work more easily.
The patent application, titled “Blockchain for Open Scientific Research,” describes a system that would create a network of research projects, each with its own blockchain. The first block in each blockchain would contain research data, and the second block would contain analytical data that has been generated from the research data.
