Capital One has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) engine to analyze the cryptocurrency market, according to a new patent application filed by the bank.
The AI engine would use a variety of signals to assess the credibility of cryptocurrencies, including social media sentiment, news articles, and historical price data.
The engine would then generate a “market trend prediction” for cryptocurrencies, which users could opt to execute on the platform.
Capital One said in the application that it would be “impossible for human traders to track,” digest, decipher and trade on the entire breadth of cryptocurrencies intelligence alone.
The bank did not immediately respond to CoinDesk questions on what it plans to do with its AI credibility engine or if the platform is already in use.
