The Associated Press (AP) will launch a collection of NFTs on the Tezos blockchain on January 31. The collection will feature 10,000 NFTs, each of which will be a unique, authenticated copy of an AP photograph.
The NFTs will be sold on a dedicated marketplace, which will support secondary market transactions and purchases using credit cards as well as crypto wallets. Proceeds from the sale of the NFTs will go back to funding AP's journalism.
The AP is not the first news organization to create an NFT collection. In June of last year, CNN launched The Vault, an NFT collection of top news moments from its 41-year history, on the Flow blockchain.
Other news organizations that have created NFTs include TIME, The New York Times, and Reuters.
