Core Scientific, a leading Bitcoin mining company, has announced that it will host 18,000 mining rigs for three companies. The rigs will be hosted at Core Scientific's facilities in Dalton, Georgia; Calvert City, Kentucky; and Denton, Texas.
The companies that will be hosting the rigs are Greenidge Generation Holdings (Gree), Ault Alliance (Ault), and LM Funding (LMFA). The rigs will be fully installed by May and will bring the total number of machines that Core Scientific is hosting to approximately 70,000.
The contracts are a mix of variable pricing and proceeds-sharing deals. Core Scientific said that the agreements will help it to diversify its revenue streams and improve its margins.
Core Scientific's stock, which is traded over-the-counter, has gained 887% since the start of the year. The shares are currently trading at 40 cents.
The miner has 175 megawatts (MW) of available hosting capacity in its Denton, Texas, facility, and is developing another 915 MW in West Texas and Oklahoma.
